Financial expertise & life experience

My corporate career in finance gave me an opportunity to work cross-culturally in various senior management roles, living in cities such as London, Dublin and Istanbul. My many years in the finance industry have enabled me to build considerable expertise in financial planning while cultivating a deeper understanding of my clients’ very diverse needs. I am qualified and registered with the FCA.
It is my personal experiences, however, that have shown me how these needs continually evolve as we progress through life’s many stages. My own journey through marriage, moving countries, motherhood and divorce means I know how it feels to go through major changes, and I understand the importance of being financially prepared for these.

From corporate career to coaching …

The key turning-point in my own story came towards the end of my corporate career, when I realised that my life/work situation was no longer sustainable or fulfilling. I loved working in finance but was struggling to manage a demanding job while also bringing up three young kids. When I finally found the courage to leave the corporate world, however, I felt lost … as my career ambition had always been my main driver in life.

So, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery through coaching and NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming). Through this, I discovered a better ability to cope and a greater sense of clarity and purpose. Seeing the difference that coaching was making to my own life, I decided to undergo a training myself and went on to qualify as an ICF-accredited (International Coaching Federation) life coach and NLP practitioner.

In 2015, I set up my coaching business, Zen Professional, which was the culmination of all my soul-searching and struggles.

Having steered my way successfully through a challenging transition in my life, I wanted to support other women to do the same. I felt inspired to help them fulfil their potential, further their careers and feel good about themselves.

But I wasn’t ready to turn my back on all my years in finance – my two strengths have always been people and numbers, so I knew I would find most fulfilment working with both!

I also knew that wealth management was a very personal business – at times sensitive and stressful – and that my coaching training and interpersonal skills would now be the ideal complement to my financial expertise.

So, after getting divorced in 2018, I began the process of establishing myself as an independent financial adviser. I saw an ‘advice gap’ for ambitious professional women like me, who were juggling the demands of work and family life and looking to gain control of their finances.

And so … Venus Global Finance was born, where I bring together all my skills and experiences to help my clients find the perfect financial plans and products for them.

What drives me now is a passion for supporting women as they navigate their own turning-points and transitions in life, as part of a caring and professional service.
